ave you ever had a dream that seemed especially vivid and real in which you met a wise man, woman or animal with whom you felt an immediate sense of warm acceptance and connection? You might have been meeting an angel or spirit guide!

My guides first appeared in dreams and now also show up occasionally during meditation or trance. I also feel their presence sometimes when writing, drawing, drumming or making photographs. The pictures above were inspired by two of my guides.

Guides can also make themselves known through synchroncity, the meaningful coincidences that lead you to people, places or events that turn out to have special significance in your life. This includes surfing the 'net :-)

Sometimes all that is needed to make contact with your guides is the sincere desire to do so; prayer and ritual are both excellent ways to invite spirit helpers into your life. Sometimes a little more "work" on your part is required: learning to interpret the symbols in dreams and sychronious events or learning to meditate, visualize, or channel information through automatic writing or drawing. I use all of these methods.

So awake or asleep, pay close attention to what's going on around you... you may have more friends than you think :-)

Angels and Spirit Guides by Sylvia Browne
Audiobook. The first section is an introduction to angels of spirit guides... their nature, and our relationship to them. In the second half of the program, Sylvia leads a meditation that invokes the presence of our angels and individual spirit guides, and invites them to communicate with us. We feel their protection, receive their healing and learn how to ask them for help. This audio book is both inspiring and very entertaining, since Sylvia is such a funny and charismatic speaker; I've listened to these tapes over and over again.

Understanding Your Angels and Meeting Your Guides by John Edward
Audio book by the psychic host of "Crossing Over." Learn how to use tools such as meditation and visualization to contact your angels and guides. John will teach you how to successfully meditate so you can relax your body, open your mind to the intuitive side, and visualize what you want in life.

Working with Your Guides & Angels by Ruth White
Long-time channeler Ruth White explains what guides and angels are, their purpose in our lives, how we can learn to communicate with them, and what to expect. She also stresses the importance of psychological preparation necessary for contact and provides 14 helpful exercises. No matter what your belief system, if it includes angels and/or spirit guides, this is an excellent introductory book.

Healing With the Angels by Doreen Virtue
How the Angels Can Assist You in Every Area of Your Life. After a general explanation of how angelic interventions work, Dr Virtue discusses specific areas of of life that many people need help with: love life, family, health, life purpose, careers, and healing past life issues. She also includes chapters on nature and animal angels, the afterlife, spiritual safety, and "star people." Each chapter includes suggestions on how to get the specific help you need. The last chapter describes how angels may attempt to get your attention by constantly making you aware of a specific set of numbers. For example, if you continually see a series of the number eight, "a phase of your life is about to end, and this is a sign to give your forewarning so you can prepare." Appendices include a forgiveness exercise, forgiveness meditation, and angel affirmations.

Healing With the Angels by Doreen Virtue
This is the audio version of the above book. On side one, Dr. Virtue discusses various ways that angels can heal a person's health, relationships, finances, careers, friends and family members and ensure one's personal safety.
